About the PPA

 

The Psychosynthesis Professional Association (PPA) is the graduate association for the Psychosynthesis & Education Trust (PET) and is currently provided for the use of the graduates & students of the Psychosynthesis & Education Trust.

Other categories of membership are available for graduates from other training institutes and counselling & psychotherapy organizations. It is envisaged that graduates could move between associations, provided they satisfy the initial registration conditions of the respective destination member organization.

Associate membership is available for people interested in being involved with activities of the Psychosynthesis & Education Trust.

The purpose of the PPA is to foster, develop and maintain excellence in the practice of counselling and psychotherapy by the promotion of professional standards, and through offering CPD programmes and providing a forum for support and networking. In addition its aim is to spread the word of Psychosynthesis out into the wider community.

The PPA endeavors to understand and support the unfolding of an individual's spiritual journey. The PPA will aim to do this by creating a collegiate rather than hierarchical membership which is based on trust and goodwill.

In addition, the graduate studies programme aims to offer many opportunities for professional, spiritual and personal development.

The Psychosynthesis Professional Association is a representative body for qualified psychosynthesis counsellors and therapists who are registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

The Association manages UKCP reaccrediation for members as well as organising regualar continuing professional development opportunities in conjunction with the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust as well as other bodies such as Re•Vision and other experts in the field.

It is a company limited by guarantee with five Directors, two from the Psychosynthesis & Education Trust (PET) and at least three elected from the membership.

Day to day Association business is managed by one part-time coordinator, supported by administrative staff at PET.
