What is the Divine Feminine? What can it offer the world today? What role can it play in psychotherapy? Jocelyn explores these questions in the context of her new book Deep Equality- Living in the Flow of Natural Rhythm (Published in May 2008 by O-books.net) Can the Divine Feminine be seen more as the process of rhythmic change throughout nature than as a single being (or two)? Instead of worshipping her, is it about attuning to her as she flows through life? Living in the flow is seen by some psychologists today as the highest form of emotional intelligence. But what exactly is the flow?

In her book Jocelyn personifies the flow as the goddess Rhea. She is the ancient Greek mother of the gods, into whose mysteries Pythagoras was famously initiated. She seems to move between opposites like the Tao of ancient China. The term goddessing as a verb can be used to describe her.

The evening will be followed by a day workshop on Saturday 11th October 2008 on 'The Divine Feminine in Psychotherapy.' These can be taken together or as stand alone units.

Jocelyn Chaplin has been a Psychotherapist in Private practice for 30 years. And set up the Serpent Institute with John Rowan in 1998. It trained Psychotherapists and Counsellors in both Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches within a frame work of Natural Spirituality. Jocelyn has been involved in the Goddess movement for 20yrs teaching and running groups and workshops. Her first book Feminist Counselling in Action 1988 contrasted the Rhythm Model with the Patriarchal hierarchical model of thinking and relating. In her second book 'Love in an Age of Uncertainty' 1993 she shows how to use goddess myths of love in our relationships.
Her latest book 'Deep Equality' (O-books 2008), goes to the very radical roots of the two models and explores how to live more in the flow of natural rhythms.
'A liberating and natural philosophy which takes us beyond the old structures of dualistic stuckness and power struggles into the balanced and flowing realms of freedom, growth and unconditional love. Deep Equality offers plenty of food for thought, as well as practical steps to take. Read it - and remember who you really are!' - Gill Edwards
