In this theoretical and experiential workshop we explore a number of ways we can use the Divine Feminine in our practices. Jocelyn shares her particular approach, seeing her as the rhythmic flow of life itself. She also works with individual goddesses.
The workshop includes:

1. Sharing our own personal and spiritual experience of the Divine Feminine. Who is she? What does she mean for us and for the world? Do we relate to particular goddesses or images personally?

2. Using guided imagery to journey with our own inner Divine Feminine.

3. Using examples from our work we will look at a range of different techniques and ways of working with her. Examples include -

a. Finding a relevant goddess myth.
b. Using her as a mother figure both for comfort and as an embodiment of both the 'good' and 'bad' feminine.
c.Exploring the most obvious opposites in the person's life and ways of balancing them more.
d. Art work to play with the different sides of the person and different goddess images.
e. Acting these different opposites.

There will be time to discuss the theories as well as process feelings.

This workshop amplifies the themes in the evening with Jocelyn, 'The Divine Feminine and the Rhythm of Life' which takes place at PET on Friday 25th July 2008 7pm-9pm. They can be taken together or separately.

Jocelyn Chaplin has been a Psychotherapist in Private practice for 30yrs. And set up the Serpent Institute with John Rowan in 1998. It trained Psychotherapists and Counsellors in both Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches within a frame work of Natural Spirituality. Jocelyn has been involved in the Goddess movement for 20yrs teaching and running groups and workshops. Her first book Feminist Counselling in Action 1988 contrasted the Rhythm Model with the Patriarchal hierarchical model of thinking and relating. In her second book 'Love in an Age of Uncertainty' 1993 she shows how to use goddess myths of love in our relationships.
Her latest book 'Deep Equality' (O-books 2008), goes to the very radical roots of the two models and explores how to live more in the flow of natural rhythms.
'A liberating and natural philosophy which takes us beyond the old structures of dualistic stuckness and power struggles into the balanced and flowing realms of freedom, growth and unconditional love. Deep Equality offers plenty of food for thought, as well as practical steps to take. Read it - and remember who you really are!' - Gill Edwards

Jocelyn is also an artist painting the Divine Feminine in semi abstract and flowing forms. She has exhibited widely in Greece and London. Her web site is www.serpentinstitute.com
